Dak Lak is situated in the South-West of the Truong Son range, adjacent to Gia Lai province to the North, Lam Dong province and Binh Duong province to the South, Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen province to the East, Muldulkiri (Combodia) to the West. Its average height is about 400 - 600 m above sea level. There are many mountain ranges and hills concentrating in Dak Lak's North-East and South-East regions, of which the highest is Chu-Yang-Sin mountain with 2,405 metres. Dak Lak has two seasons, the rainny season that last from May to October and the Dry season from November to April . Hoa Binh is a mountainous province. It's adjacent to Phu Tho and Ha Tay to the north, Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa to the south, Ha Tay and Ha Nam to the east, Son La to the west. Its topography is mainly composed of mountains and forest, with a narrow valley betwee the sides of the mountains.
